Minatomo (Wano)

Advanced in age and small of stature, Minatomo has sun-browned skin paired with dark gray hair, and his face settles into a stern cast. A scar runs across his left cheek. For clothing he favors workwear in assorted blue tones, finished with a twisted cloth band, a nejiri-hachimaki, knotted around his forehead.

Minatomo holds genuine respect for skilled craftsmen, though he expresses it bluntly. When Franky proved his carpentry, the old man offered praise, but delivered it in such a gruff and irritable manner that it grated on Franky rather than flattering him.

His carpentry talent is exceptional, as he was the architect behind Kaidou's residence on Onigashima. He commands his own guild of builders who answer to him, which Franky joined for a time. That standing gave him a workforce of carpenters at his disposal and made his knowledge valuable to anyone seeking access to the fortress.

According to Kin'emon, Minatomo raised Kaidou's stronghold years before the present day. He had kept the building plans but sold them to a pawnshop roughly ten years prior. When Franky pressed him for the blueprints during the Wano Country Arc, Minatomo abruptly recalled having parted with them, prompting a furious outburst from Franky and his subsequent dismissal from the guild.
