Appearance

By the time he reaches adulthood, Natto stands at a fairly ordinary height and keeps his look simple: a cloth-wrapped headpiece, tinted glasses shading his eyes, and a shirt patterned with stripes. Childhood pictures show him far scruffier, in an open shirt dotted with black near the hem and trimmed with a dark band along the short sleeves, the whole thing belted with a sash above shorts and sandals.

Personality

Natto shares the dream Koza holds for Arabasta, and that conviction runs deep enough that he eventually takes up arms with the rebel forces. As a boy he proved his nerve early, throwing himself into danger when Vivi was set upon by Agotogi's thugs. Badly outmatched, he and the other children still refused to back down, even though the brawl ended in their defeat.

History

During his youth, Natto looked on as Koza and Vivi quarreled over who would head the Sand-Sand Clan, and he scolded the other kids for cheering Vivi when Koza was meant to be their chief. He and his friends managed to shield Vivi from a kidnapping plot by Agotogi's gang, and though they couldn't win the fight outright, Koza found his own way to put the ringleader down.

Years on, Natto is identified among the Rebel Army that Koza assembled. He stood in the crowd at Katorea when the assault on Nanohana was declared, and once the fighting wound down he was seen alongside Kebi and Erik as a wounded Koza was wheeled off for treatment.
