In One Piece Odyssey, Niina was mulling over which direction her career should take when the Straw Hat Pirates, sent along by her grandmother Hatsu, came to find her. She apologized for losing track of the hour and confided that she was stuck on whether to pursue shipwrighting for Galley-La, explaining that although she was not as strong as the others, she felt she had what it took and wanted to follow her father's example.
