Personality

An anxious streak defines Yuka. Faced with feelings for a man she likes, she chooses to mail him a written note rather than speak up in person, then spends her time stewing over the silence that follows and dreading whatever answer might come. After others weigh in on her predicament, she commits to a choice and returns to work with her mind settled.

History

Inside the Galley-La cafeteria, Yuka takes orders from Hatsu, who is her grandmother, while Niina, the elder of the two siblings, works beside her. The plot of One Piece Odyssey begins her arc when Hatsu, worried by her absence, sends the Straw Hat crew to track her down. They come across her tucked away in a Dock 1 storeroom. Apologizing for running late, she lets Robin coax out the cause: she had posted a note confessing her feelings and now feared the man's reaction, torn over whether to confront him directly. Encouraged by the pirates, she reaches a decision and heads back to her post at peace.

During the Reunion of Memories sequence, a Water Seven Memoria replays the moment of Iceburg's arrest. There Yuka talks Hatsu down from a rescue, and after Sanji adds his own persuasion, the two of them draw the Cipher Pol agents away to clear a path for the crew.
