Ramba

Ramba is exceptionally tall and slimly built, looming over most of his allies. He wears a floor-length white robe with loose ruffled sleeves beneath a dark blue vest and a high-collared blue cape, accented with golden shoulder pads. His most distinctive piece is a crested helm in gold, black, and white, bearing a Jolly Roger on the red panel at its front and covering the top of his head. A long sword suited to his height hangs at his side.

Little is documented about Ramba beyond his deep respect and loyalty toward Whitebeard, for whom he was ready to lay down his life to save Ace. He comes across as calm and composed, keeping his head even at the worst moments, as when Ace was struck down by Sakazuki, and he wears the same grim expression throughout. It was Ramba who advised Luffy to seize the opening created by the Marines' assault on Whitebeard to reach his brother.

Some time before the main story, Ramba built a fearsome name in the New World and, along with his crew, became a subordinate of Whitebeard. When Ace was scheduled for execution at Marineford, Ramba and his men joined the Whitebeard Pirates to rescue him, following orders to strike the headquarters from the side rather than head-on. After the Pacifista army attacked them and Akainu melted the ice wall with his magma, Ramba reached the plaza with help from Little Oars Jr. and urged Luffy onward toward Ace. Once Ace was freed, the celebration collapsed as Akainu dealt the fatal blow, and Ramba stood guard over the dying Ace and then over Luffy until Shanks arrived to halt the fighting.

Non-canon material adds more. The anime shows Ramba attending Whitebeard and Ace's funeral, a scene absent from the manga, and later, during the Zou Arc, he is said to have argued with Edward Weevil and been defeated, his report appearing on Kizaru's desk among other beaten captains.
