Spector

Spector runs the Tropical Hotel in Mock Town on the island of Jaya. A nervous middle-aged innkeeper, he is best remembered for turning the Straw Hats away out of fear of the Bellamy Pirates lodging under his roof.

Spector would not let the Straw Hat Pirates through the door when they came looking for information about Skypiea. The Bellamy Pirates were staying with him at the time, and his fear of that crew outweighed any willingness to take in new guests.

Spector's Tropical Hotel was advertised in a supplementary issue of the Grand Times, which boasted that it would welcome any visitor at all, provided they could afford the bill. In practice, Spector turned the Straw Hats away despite this claim.

Spector is a pale, short man past his middle years who wears a buttoned white long-sleeved shirt, a green apron-like cloth at his waist, and red trousers printed with pink flowers. His face has round eyes, heavy black brows, small thick lips, and a thin little mustache.

Spector is thoroughly terrified of the Bellamy Pirates, whose presence in his hotel keeps him perpetually shaking his head. That fear is what drives him to refuse the Straw Hat Pirates entry.
