Quit Dreaming! Mock Town, the Town of Ridicule!

A tavern dispute opens the episode as Roshio beats Bellamy at gambling, only for Bellamy to cry cheating and crush him with ease. Out at sea, Chopper watches gulls drop dead, shot from afar by the marksman Van Augur perched on a Jaya rooftop. In Mock Town, Jesus Burgess flattens a challenger, and word spreads that Bellamy was the one who downed Roshio. The Straw Hats finally land, and Nami tags along with Luffy and Zoro to keep them from sparking trouble that would ruin their information gathering, extracting a promise that they will not pick a fight.

The sickly Doc Q offers the pair apples, and Luffy unknowingly picks the harmless one while others nearby explode. Turned away from the Tropical Hotel because Bellamy's party rented it whole, the group endures Sarquiss tossing coins and calling them shabby. At a restaurant Luffy trades opinions on the food with Blackbeard, who scoffs in disbelief at Luffy's 30,000,000 berry bounty before leaving. Bellamy then buys Luffy a drink, only to smash his head into the counter. When Nami asks the bar about the sky island, the patrons erupt in laughter, and Bellamy delivers a contemptuous speech declaring the age of dreaming pirates over. Luffy unclenches his fist and lets Bellamy strike him, then tells Zoro they will not fight back.

This installment debuts Bellamy and his crew along with the future Blackbeard Pirates, including Marshall D. Teach himself, and introduces the location of Mock Town on Jaya. The pirates still cite Luffy's old 30,000,000 berry bounty, later raised to 100,000,000 for defeating Crocodile. Several violent manga beats were softened, with Bellamy punching Luffy instead of breaking a bottle on him and merely kicking Roshio out a window rather than stabbing and shooting him. An animation error briefly turns Jesus Burgess's skin from tan to white.
