X Drake

Lean, muscular, and unusually tall, Drake carries two large X marks on his body, one scarred into his broad chin and another spread across his chest and torso. Those marks, along with the X in his name, stand for the Roman numeral ten rather than the English letter. Before the timeskip, a plumed cocked hat bearing his crew's emblem covered reddish brown hair, and a domino mask sat across his eyes, while brush-like sideburns framed his face.

Protective gear shields his slim limbs: gloves reaching past the elbows and knee-high boots, each rimmed with rounded or maple-leaf armor plating. Leather trousers and a leather shirt make up the rest of his outfit, cinched by an ornate circular buckle that also holds his sword and axe. A dark cape lined crimson on the inside and trimmed with white fur completes the look. Following the Summit War, a scarf appeared around his neck during a visit to a winter island.

Two years on, the bicorne is gone, revealing light orange hair styled into a fauxhawk. A slanted black headband with an eyehole now covers his left eye, marked with his crew's flag, and a strip of cloth drapes over the right. As a child he idolized the Marines so deeply that he wore a small tattered Marine uniform and carried a wooden sword, having a rounder face and no chin scar yet. Abuse from his father left him undersized as a young adult, so much so that the Donquixote Pirates mistook him for a child.

Today Drake keeps a grim, perpetually serious manner. Observant and patient, he steers clear of pointless fights since they invite scrutiny, even stepping between Killer and Urouge to defuse their quarrel. Yet a brutal, bloodthirsty side surfaces when violence is warranted, as when he bit into a Pacifista in his Zoan form or boldly provoked one of Kaidou's men knowing it would mark him for the Emperor's wrath. His devotion to the Marines runs so deep that he would choose death under torture over betraying his true allegiance, continuing to fight only because his mission remained unfinished.

Flexible about justice, he readily seeks allies among outlaws, and once asked to join Luffy's side purely on the strength of his subordinate Koby's regard for the Straw Hat captain. As a member of the Tobiroppo he stays mission-focused, dutifully reporting everything of note in his cover, though he privately admits no interest in climbing the Beasts Pirates' ranks. One peculiar weakness undercuts his stern image: spotting a naked woman flusters him so badly that he faints, a vulnerability he stubbornly denies.

Commanding both SWORD and his own pirate crew, Drake wields real authority and an extensive history of strength. He led the Barrels Pirates as their toughest member in his youth, rose to rear admiral, and survived one of Paradise's seven deadly routes to earn a bounty of 222 million Berries before reaching the New World. His might is considerable: he ended a clash between two Supernovas with a single move, defeated Caribou with ease, harmed a Pacifista without help, and felled the giant Juki in one strike. An Ancient Zoan power named the Ryu Ryu no Mi, with its Allosaurus model, is the fruit he ate, and it lets him shift into a full dinosaur or a human hybrid, granting punishing jaws strong enough to bite through a Pacifista, a heavy tail, and sharp claws.

Beyond raw power, Drake is a sharp tactician with deep knowledge of the World Government and its weapons projects, and he skillfully handles a four-bladed axe alongside a rapier, combining the two weapons in his signature X Calibur strike. He commands Armament Haki, imbuing his weapons to strengthen his blows, and also possesses Observation Haki. His durability is striking, surviving a laser through the abdomen, a light-speed kick from Kizaru, and a blade through the neck.
