Yamanba

Taller than the average woman, Yamanba carries a drawn-out face and chin over a broad mouth, and more often than not her tongue droops out past her lips. A flower decorates her lengthy purple hair, and two little horns rise through it from below.

Her outfit is a purple yukata held closed by a sash of pink. Her name and look both nod to the mountain-witch folklore she is modeled after.

Brutality sits at the core of who Yamanba is. She reportedly hunts down those she fights for the chance to open their throats with her prized deba bocho, a habit she takes deliberate trouble to indulge.

For all that savagery, she is capable of pitying anyone she ranks beneath her. As Black Maria pounded Sanji and ordered him to scream for Nico Robin, Yamanba wept on his behalf, only for that sorrow to flip into stunned disbelief once he truly called out and Robin answered almost at once.

The artificial Zoan fruit Yamanba ate was a Japanese Rat Snake SMILE, yet whatever power it handed her was never spelled out. Her Gifter status places her among the subordinates Black Maria commands.

What she clearly relies on is the deba bocho kitchen knife at her side, a tool she handles with evident skill given how readily she cuts enemy throats open. Once Maria had captured the fleeing Sanji, Yamanba and the other Gifters helped surround him after his fall. When the real fight erupted between Maria and Robin, Brook walled off the area with ice and held the Gifters back. Peering through a crack, Yamanba glimpsed Maria already beaten, and moments later Brook downed the whole lined-up group with one blow.
