Ylva

A small giant child with blue eyes and short blonde hair, Ylva has soft blush marks on each cheek. Her outfit is a pink tunic finished with a white collar, a belt, and black striping along the hem. Crowning her is an oversized pink horned helmet with a broad brim, its chin straps left hanging loose and a decorative motif running from her face around to the back of her head.

True to the teachings of the Walrus School, Ylva rejects violence and conflict. She is a tender-hearted child, prone to fear, and the monstrous figures of Elbaph's old legends genuinely terrify her. Her family treasures her in turn: her great-great-grandfather Jarul thought of her the moment the school came under attack and backed Harald's vision of a peaceful Elbaph partly so she could grow up without learning to fight, while her mother proved willing to brave Imu's Supreme King Haki and battle a Nika MMA to reach her.

When the Straw Hats stopped by the Walrus School, Ylva and a classmate scolded two students who tried to playfully lock the visitors up, and she grew cross when Colon picked a fight with Luffy. She later sat in on Ange's class and was among the first to spot Gunko's arrow bird overhead. Trouble came when the Knights of God arrived to conscript Elbaph's adult giants for a looming war, lulling Ylva and the other children to sleep and luring them away. She burst into tears as Sommers read her name first, and the group was repeatedly knocked out by Imu's Haki as the arrow drove them onward toward a ship bound for Mary Geoise. Near the coast, when the children faced a deadly fall through a collapsed section down to the Underworld, Ylva's mother embraced her through the thorns and the two plunged over the edge, saved only by landing on Loki's back below. In the Western Village the children bravely shielded their guardians from Sommers until Zoro, Luffy, and Loki struck him down and freed them, though further threats from the demonic Giant Warrior Pirates, Imu's return, and Killingham's flood kept recapturing and endangering the young giants.
