Zadie was one of the scholars of Ohara who studied history alongside Nico Robin's people. Loyal to the cause of preserving knowledge, he perished in the Buster Call that destroyed the island.
Zadie was a man of average size, his face framed by a brown mustache and beard. He topped his head with a white cowboy hat and wore a greenish-blue button-up shirt patterned with lines running up and across each side, its sleeves rolled partway up.
Devotion to scholarship defined Zadie. He remained behind to help sink books into a lake in a bid to save them, and like his fellow researchers he showed warmth toward Nico Robin.
As a member of the Ohara clan, Zadie was a capable archaeologist with a strong grasp of history. The World Government branded Ohara's scholars demons for studying the forbidden Poneglyphs, accusing them of plotting to destroy the world, and dispatched Spandine to call down a Buster Call. Zadie died in the island's destruction, lost when the Tree of Knowledge burned with him still inside.
