At Spiders Cafe - The Enemy Ringleaders Meet at 8 o'clock

Luffy puzzles over the slip of paper Ace handed him, and once the crew agrees it looks like nothing special, Nami stitches it inside the brim of his hat. Vivi points out that Yuba lies just beyond a distant rock. In Crocodile's hideout, Miss All Sunday confirms that every preparation is set and the plan can begin in two days, prompting Crocodile to note that the rest of the agents are on their way from Spiders Cafe.

At the cafe the officer agents assemble, waiting only on Mr. 1, whose late, wall-smashing entrance knocks over one of Mr. 2's dancers and sparks a brief brawl. Miss Doublefinger ends the squabble and relays orders to meet the boss at Rainbase, and the agents pile into a carriage. The Straw Hats finally arrive at Yuba, only to find it ravaged by sandstorms and abandoned rather than the oasis they expected. Its lone remaining founder turns out to be Toto, who recognizes Vivi at once.

Toto is revealed to be the father of Koza, the rebel army's leader, a painful contrast given his own deep loyalty to the crown. A flashback recalls Vivi and Koza playing together as children before Toto was sent off to found Yuba. Since the old man knows Vivi, the crew accept his hospitality for the night and listen to his tales of how thriving Yuba was before three years of drought, resolving to depart at dawn.
