Episode 1060 of One Piece reaches back into Zoro's boyhood, where memories of a coastal old man and his late friend Kuina hand him the insight he needs to finally master the draining blade Enma.
Zoro reclaims two swords and trades blows with King, who unleashes Barizodon, but the instant Zoro grabs Enma it withers his arm. Falling, he remembers the battle cry Sunacchi he taught Momonosuke and the old man who lingered by the shore in his East Blue village thirteen years prior. That man, who warned of a coming Marine invasion, gifted young Zoro two practice blades and explained that every sword has a temper a swordsman must tame, and that a cursed sword is simply a fine one the weak fear. He recalled forging his masterwork, a blade that chilled whoever held it, which he named the great king of hell. Zoro realizes this was Enma. Outside, Momonosuke discovers he can steer Kaidou's flame clouds as a fellow dragon. Linking the village's Shimotsuki name to the smith Kozaburo, Zoro deduces the old man was Kozaburo himself and that Enma was merely testing its chosen wielder. Recalling his pact with Kuina before her fatal fall, he stops resisting and lets Enma drain him, conquering the blade and erupting with Supreme King Haki that fells nearby Beasts Pirates.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...
Shimotsuki Kozaburo debuts and King premieres Barizodon. The adaptation adds Momonosuke learning to steer the flame clouds, Apoo, Drake, Inbi, and Zanki fighting CP0, a visual of Zoro's heart as he stabilizes the Haki drain, and his Haki rendered green on first use. It extends King knocking Zoro into the shed, Momonosuke pulling the island clear, the flashback, and Zoro downing the pirates, while omitting a close-up of that effect. A Wano Country arc entry.
The secret of the cursed sword Enma is revealed in Episode 1060, "The Secret of Enma! The Cursed Sword Entrusted to Zoro," where Zoro learns its history and finally masters it during his fight against King.
By the end of Episode 1060, Enma is in Roronoa Zoro's possession, having tested him as its wielder before he stops resisting its Haki drain and gains mastery over the blade.
Zoro initially struggles with Enma because the cursed sword drains his Haki whenever he grips it, and he does not yet understand that a sword like Enma requires its wielder to yield rather than fight it. Once he stops resisting in Episode 1060, he conquers the blade and erupts with Supreme King Haki.
Enma was forged by the legendary swordsmith Shimotsuki Kozaburo, the same craftsman who made Zoro's sword Wado Ichimonji, which is why Enma sits so naturally in Zoro's hand.
Zoro recalls an old man from his East Blue village who gave him practice blades and explained that every sword has a temper a swordsman must tame, later revealing that the man forged a blade called the great king of hell. Zoro realizes this was Enma and that the old man was Shimotsuki Kozaburo himself.
