With the Fire Festival winding down in the Flower Capital, Momonosuke fails again and again to summon Flame Clouds to hold up Onigashima. Kaidou's own clouds have weakened so much that the island starts to drop despite the boy's efforts. In the vault, Orochi, his Seastone nail now gone, can shift into his serpent form, though only a single head remains, and he threatens Hiyori for siding with the alliance.

On the rooftop, Luffy keeps trading blows with Kaidou, weaving lightning into his attacks by merging with the bolts. Kaidou weathers the assault and answers with brutal counters, among them Daiitoku Raimei Hakke.

A final strike leaves Luffy burning, and Kaidou insists that Haki, not Devil Fruit power, is the true root of strength, noting that neither Roger nor Oden ever ate a fruit. Inside the Skull Dome, the surviving allies realize that even a Luffy victory means the island will crash and kill them, yet they willingly accept that fate to topple Kaidou and cheer the pirate on.

Luffy catches their cheers, recovers, and prepares his last attack, swelling his fist to a size rivaling Onigashima itself. Set on keeping his promise to free Wano, he declares he trusts Momonosuke to shield the Flower Capital.

This Wano Country Arc entry is the first to use Saiko Totatsuten as its opening and the first since Episode 283 to run a 90-second opening. The adaptation adds Luffy caging Kaidou in lightning, Hyougoro's flashback to Udon, the removal of Orochi's Seastone nail, and Luffy recovering by hearing the people's voices through Observation Haki.
