The Rain Dinners breakout reaches its climax beneath Crocodile's casino. Chopper stalls Crocodile so Sanji can free the caged crew, Usopp leans on Mr. 3's wax powers for a way out, and Smoker rethinks his view of Luffy after the Straw Hats spare him.
Locked beneath Crocodile's casino, the captured pirates need an exit from their flooding cell. Chopper draws Crocodile away long enough for Sanji to reach the others, though escape turns out to be harder to seize than it looks. Smoker, caged alongside the crew, lets slip that the woman known as Miss All Sunday has drawn the World Government's pursuit for twenty years, carrying a bounty close to Crocodile's own seventy million.
Sanji thrashes a handful of Banana Gators trying to recover the cell key, only for Galdino, called Mr. 3, to erupt from one of the beasts holding it. Mr. 3 then flings the key in among three of the reptiles. The crew soon learns the twist that Crocodile had kept the real key on his person the entire time, while Usopp pieces together a scheme built on Mr. 3's wax abilities. When their captors finally return to the room, the cell stands empty. Luffy tells Zoro to pull Smoker out, and a grateful Smoker lets the pirates pass while the remaining Marines give chase.
The crew swears it will not stop running until Alubarna. Unlike the manga, the anime plays the escape out live as Crocodile reenters rather than replaying it afterward in flashback. Mr. 3's reaction to Sanji is exaggerated for laughs here, and an earlier continuity error about him floating in the flooded room is patched by showing him gripping the wreckage of the dining table. The chapter debuts Sanji's Anti-Manner Kick Course and Mr. 3's Doru Doru Ball. The entry sits within the Arabasta Arc.
Episode 109, "The Key to Turning the Tide and a Great Escape! Doru Doru Ball!," follows the Straw Hats and allies breaking out of Crocodile's flooded prison cell beneath his casino during the Arabasta Arc.
In episode 109, Chopper distracts Crocodile so Sanji can fight past a group of Banana Gators to reach the caged crew and recover the cell key.
Mr. 3, real name Galdino, bursts out of one of the Banana Gators in episode 109 and uses his wax-based Doru Doru no Mi powers, debuting the technique Doru Doru Ball, to help the group escape.
After the pirates spare him during the escape, a grateful Smoker lets Luffy's group pass in episode 109 while the remaining Marines give chase.
In episode 109, Smoker reveals that Miss All Sunday, later known as Nico Robin, has been pursued by the World Government for twenty years and carries a bounty close to Crocodile's own seventy million.
