Out in the courtyard, acting on the command of Charlos, who meant to claim her as a slave, Kuma had bound Shirahoshi within chains. The remaining royals scattered, unwilling to oppose a World Noble and court execution for it. Fukaboshi, Ryuboshi, and Manboshi moved to defend her, only for Kuma to drive them back using a beam of light. Donquixote Mjosgard then arrived and officially granted Sai and Leo permission to attack Charlos, and their combined blow flattened him into unconsciousness, leaving him so still that onlookers took him for dead. Kuma attempted to strike back, but Morley surfaced from the ground, grabbed him, and slipped away, the keys already secured with Karasu and the operation a success.

Inside, Cobra faced the Five Elders before the Empty Throne and pressed them on the subject of Nefertari D. Lili. She had been among the twenty original rulers of the Void Century, and she stood as the sole monarch who refused to take up the rank of World Noble. Lili had turned down the position and tried to make her way back to Arabasta, yet she vanished before arriving. Cobra asked why Arabastan records after the Void Century carried no trace of her and what the D in her name signified. Overhearing this, Imu emerged and, to the astonishment of Cobra and the Elders alike, took a seat on the throne, ready to respond. The anime adds Sabo dwelling on the Lost Chamber before returning to Pangaea Castle and Charlos imagining Shirahoshi cradling him before the nobles. The episode introduces Nefertari Lili in silhouette, with Shirahoshi as the bonus character.
