Vivi's push to stop the rebel army amounts to nothing, and although Mr. 2 attacks her, she slips free. Across the battlefield a separate confrontation ignites, setting Miss Merry Christmas and Mr. 4 against the pairing of Chopper and Usopp.

Sensing that Vivi is cornered with Mr. 2 on her trail, Sanji sends Usopp to the South East Gate to back up Chopper, then finds himself trapped between the Royal and Rebel forces; proclaiming that he sides with neither and battles only for the sake of women, he plows through both to reach the princess. Chopper, meanwhile, is locked in his own struggle with the duo of Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas. A stray bullet fells Karoo, who waves Vivi onward as Mr. 2 closes in, until two additional Duck Troops members arrive with Sanji; Sanji stays behind to handle Mr. 2 while the ducks tend to the injured Karoo. Elsewhere, Zoro and Nami are left facing Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger, who bypass Zoro and target Nami as the weaker prey, driving her to flee. Usopp rouses a downed Chopper, who cautions that the Mole Mole Fruit lets Miss Merry Christmas tunnel beneath the surface, warns that Mr. 4 hits hard, and leaves the two dodging his bombs.
