Setting off into the Upper Yard, the three trade worries about Conis, who now carries the same criminal brand they do. The forest proves vast and immediately deadly. A great swinging scythe forces Luffy to fling everyone aside with Gomu Gomu no Bazooka, then a volley of wooden spears comes at them, which he and Sanji kick away before Luffy hurls the group past with Gomu Gomu no Kazaguruma. A razor boomerang follows, and later a Sky Lamprey strikes, only for Sanji to swat it down with ease.

The fast-moving creature has by now dumped the seized crew at a spot Robin identifies as a sacrificial altar. Having cut down a Sky Shark, Zoro chooses to wander the forest, and when Nami warns him about the priests and Enel and tells him to show the god respect, he answers flatly that he has never once prayed, a reply Chopper finds admirable. Studying the inscriptions, Robin guesses the altar is close to a thousand years old, is excited by its history, and suspects valuables lie among the ruins. That hint sways Nami into joining her and the swordsman, and they entrust the ship to Chopper, who quickly grasps that he, left alone in a dangerous place, faces the greatest risk. Back on the Milky Road, another Sky Lamprey is dispatched before the trio arrives at the gateway to the four Ordeals.

The episode adapts chapter 245. When Zoro swings from a vine he gives a Tarzan-style yell, and it diverges from the manga in one moment: here Luffy finishes the eel with his pistol move, whereas the manga gives that action to Sanji. The episode sits within the Skypiea storyline.
