Luffy is in Sight! Gather at the Courthouse Plaza

Though battered by the Guilty Jury's massive iron balls, Gomorrah rises again, even after a blow to the head ruins his retinas and leaves him blind. Chopper explains the bull is keeping a promise to Sodom to deliver the crew to the courtyard, and that he is driven to repay Franky, who once saved him and Sodom from a Sea King. Gomorrah crashes onward toward a dead end until Zoro and Sanji cut through the building in his way; the bull finally collapses, but he has succeeded, and the Marines sound the alarm as the intruders reach the Courthouse Plaza.

Spandam discovers his Den Den Mushi has been off the hook the whole time and learns the grim tally: roughly sixty intruders, the Straw Hats plus the unidentified Franky Family and Galley-La shipwrights, have crossed the main island. Oimo and Kashii have defected after Sogeking exposed the lie about Dorry and Brogy, and the casualties now exceed two thousand, with over a thousand attributed to Luffy alone before he rocketed out of sight. Yokozuna blocks another juror's ball, Sanji follows the chain back to defeat three jurors, and Zoro carves open the courthouse door. On the rooftop, Luffy deflects Blueno's Soru-driven attacks, then announces a new technique he developed to grow stronger, naming it Gear 2.

This Enies Lobby Arc episode marks Luffy's debut of Gear 2. His recollection of the duel with Aokiji reuses footage from the fifth opening, Kokoro no Chizu, and his thoughts of the crew show Usopp turned away from him, a reminder of their fractured friendship.
