A New Crewmate! The Musician, Humming Brook

Grateful to be alive after fifty hard years since his revival, Brook asks whether Luffy's offer still stands, and the captain welcomes him aboard as the crew's ninth member. The Straw Hats settle their remaining business on Thriller Bark, raise a proper grave for the dead Rumbar Pirates in soil from their native West Blue, and prepare to depart. Lola hands Nami a Vivre Card pointing toward her mother in the New World, and Luffy's own paper from his brother Ace begins to burn and shrink, signaling that Ace's life is in peril.

Brook joins the Straw Hats, introducing himself as a wanted pirate worth 33 million Berries. Usopp and Franky build a grave for his old crew, and Zoro plants the broken Yubashiri there before mourning alongside the musician. Lola proposes to Franky and is gently refused, then gives Nami a Vivre Card to her pirate mother. Luffy realizes Ace's Vivre Card is shrinking but chooses to press onward, trusting his brother to handle the danger himself. As the crew sails off with a Coup de Burst, three towering shadowy figures loom over Thriller Bark in the fog.

This is the final episode of the Thriller Bark Arc. It debuts Brook's eye-catcher, and Zoro's is updated as the memorialized Yubashiri gives way to his new blade Shusui. A newspaper carried by Crocus references Iceburg's search for a secretary, with Moda, her parents, and Vice Admiral Comil visible, the closest the anime comes to adapting certain side material.
