Setting off with a Smile! Farewell, Hometown Cocoyashi Village!

Word of Arlong's downfall spreads across the islands, and every village erupts in joyous celebration of their newfound liberty. Amid the festivities Nami makes her choice clear, paying her final respects at Bell-mere's grave before deciding to set sail with Luffy's crew. She trades her hated Arlong tattoo for a fresh design and slips away from her village, leaving behind both her old life and the fortune she once hoarded. The crew departs toward their next port, now with their navigator aboard for good.

As Luffy feasts and Nako tends to Zoro's wounds, Nami visits her foster mother's grave alongside Nojiko and Genzo, revealing she intends to leave and join the Straw Hats. Once night falls she has Nako remove the Arlong Pirates mark from her arm, replacing it with a tattoo of a mikan branch and a pinwheel. She packs at home and walks out, abandoning the hundred million belly she had stolen. Meeting the crew at the dock, Nami ignores the grateful townspeople and leaps aboard the Going Merry, having secretly pickpocketed the crowd on her way past. The citizens thank her regardless. Genzo, no longer needing his pinwheel, leaves it resting on Bell-mere's grave.

This entry marks the conclusion of the Arlong Park arc and the moment Nami officially becomes a Straw Hat. The original broadcast earned a 13.2 rating, while the remastered airing scored 4.7.
