He hears unsettling details about the dangerous inmates locked in the Eternal Hell, including Shiryu, Crocodile, Jinbe, and Ace. Told that Luffy needs three days to mend while Ace faces execution far sooner, Bentham refuses to leave the captain's side and pours his heart into cheering him on. When Luffy's screams finally fall silent, the residents fear the worst, until he pounds on the door demanding food, signaling his miraculous recovery.

At the bar Ivankov explains the Horm-Horm Fruit and how the okama hacked a Den Den Mushi to watch the prison above. He recounts how Shiryu of the Rain, once a brutal guard, was jailed by Magellan for slaughtering inmates, and names other Level 6 monsters like Catarina Devon, Sanjuan Wolf, and Vasco Shot, along with Crocodile and a former Shichibukai. With Ace's transfer set for 3 P.M. and Luffy still needing days, Bentham grows desperate and bangs on the door, joined by the gathering New Kama residents in a chorus of encouragement. Magellan learns Luffy has vanished from Level 5 while Hannyabal hangs tied up half-naked. Jinbe and Ace speak of Hancock and the captain's recklessness as the execution nears. Blood seeps under Luffy's door, and the crowd weeps, only for him to burst out roaring for food, fully cured to Ivankov's astonishment.

The episode adapts pages eight to nineteen of Chapter 538 and pages two to four of Chapter 539 in the Impel Down arc, and debuts Shiryu. This is the first installment where Katsuhisa Hoki voices Jinbe following the death of Daisuke Gori.
