Chase Straw Hat! Little Buggy's Big Adventure!

As the crew sails on toward Loguetown, Nami muses about what became of Buggy. The episode then rewinds to follow him after Luffy blasted him skyward during the Orange Town clash. He lands on a deserted island with several of his scattered body parts still missing, paddles off on a makeshift raft, and reaches a second island where a fierce bird snatches him up, only to spit him back into the air after deciding he is not a meal.

His next landing drops him on the Island of Rare Animals, home to Gaimon. Once Gaimon realizes Buggy is no poacher come to harm the creatures, the two share drinks beside a fire and part as friends. When Buggy tries to push on, a sea beast wrecks his raft, but Alvida, now far thinner than during her bout with Luffy, fishes him out. Discovering they chase the same prey, the pair agree to join forces aboard her vessel. The story returns to the present as night falls and the crew turns in.

Buggy survives a string of island mishaps while collecting himself after defeat. He renews his friendship with Gaimon on the Island of Rare Animals. The episode reintroduces Alvida in her transformed, slender appearance, the result of her Sube Sube no Mi powers, and seals the alliance between Buggy and Alvida, both bent on tracking down Luffy.

The Sube Sube no Mi makes its Devil Fruit debut here. The To Be Continued card gains a water effect recycled from Episode 10. The remastered run skipped this installment, though some Netflix territories aired it intact in remastered widescreen. The farewell between Buggy and Gaimon plays over an excerpt of Chopin's Etude Op. 10, No. 3.
