Episode 517 launches the post timeskip era as the Straw Hats begin trickling back to Sabaody Archipelago. Nami and Usopp clash with a counterfeit crew, and Luffy unknowingly collides with his own impostor, sparking the fake captain's grudge.
Two years on, Luffy reclaims his straw hat and the beasts of Rusukaina, now tamed, see him off. He thanks Boa Hancock for the food but turns down marriage. At Sabaody, Rayleigh and Shakuyaku reflect on the passing time and the crew's imminent return, and Zoro turns up as the first to arrive. Nami, meanwhile, lingers at a bar that happens to host the Fake Straw Hat crew, a band of frauds cashing in on the pirates' reputation.
Brook headlines the final show of a world tour at Sabaody Park, and Sanji lands on the island, fleeing a swarm of doting okamas after spotting a woman. When the fakes pressure Nami to join and Fake Luffy brags about being Dragon's son, Usopp arrives and unleashes a Pop Green on them. Nami joyfully welcomes him, conjures a thundercloud with her Weatheria gear, and the pair stroll out as lightning wrecks the bar. Enraged, Fake Luffy orders his crew to hunt them down and kill them.
Robin dodges shadowy pursuers, Franky admires the pristine Thousand Sunny, and Chopper happily munches a Grand Bun before chasing cotton candy. Fake Luffy shoots a couple resembling Nami and Usopp just as the real Luffy strolls past, his huge backpack bumping the impostor over and earning instant hostility, ending on Luffy's puzzled grunt.
