Protect Shirahoshi - Decken's Pursuit

Ignoring Chopper's desperate pleas, Sanji turns to behold Shirahoshi, deciding his lifelong dream justifies the gamble, and at once hardens into solid stone as Chopper looks on horrified. The angry crowd then ties up Luffy together with Chopper, Hatchan, and the petrified Sanji. Among the locals, one identifies Hatchan as someone who once ran with Arlong's crew. Shirahoshi's insistence that Luffy meant no harm goes ignored, and the townsfolk swear they will execute the captured pirates.

Vander Decken IX storms in and demands marriage, vowing Shirahoshi will perish unless she agrees. Her soft refusal, that he simply is not her type, shatters him into attacking with a rose-marked axe. Still bound, Luffy levels the interfering locals with a surge of Haoshoku Haki, springs at Decken, and plants him head first with the brand-new Gomu Gomu no Jet Hammer. When Decken summons Wadatsumi, Luffy strikes first, landing a Jet Pistol that snaps one of the giant's teeth. Shirahoshi unties Luffy and the group escapes on Megalo. Elsewhere, the fleeing Nami and Camie work out the meaning behind Jinbe's message and head for the Sea Forest, while Neptune commands his soldiers to abandon the castle and rejoin Fukaboshi. The episode ends as Zoro fells Hody with one stroke.

The broadcast lengthens Zoro's duel, allowing Hody to land a hit before defeat, and the finishing blow is named Ittoryu Iai: Shishi Sonson, while the Gigant Battle! 2 game labels the same strike Buttagiri. Here Luffy's punch knocks Wadatsumi onto his back, whereas in the manga the giant stayed on his feet. Pandaman turns up in a quick cameo right after Shirahoshi turns Decken down.
