The Kingdom in Shock! An Order to Execute Neptune Issued!

Hody Jones announces island-wide that he will be the new king, forcing citizens to trample a portrait of Otohime as a loyalty test. He blames humans for the queen's death and brands the Neptune family as leaders marching their people to ruin. Holding the king captive, he sets a three-hour clock until the execution at Gyoncorde Plaza, then reads off everyone who once signed Otohime's petition, calling the list a roster of traitors he means to slaughter.

His final threat targets the Straw Hats. Hody reveals he has Zoro, Usopp, and Brook in chains and intends to drown them, while parading Luffy's head to the world as a warning, payback for ending Arlong's ambitions. Neptune spits that the fish-man is selfish, and Hody cheerfully agrees a king may be exactly that. Watching from afar, the three princes resolve to stop him.

Bound in the palace, the captives banter even in danger. Usopp pleads with Zoro to free them, Zoro calmly asks him to remove the chains, and Brook's earlier feigned death draws sharp rebukes since playing dead could have let them escape. Zoro points out that with Nami still loose, rescue remains possible. Meanwhile at the Sea Forest, Robin studies a Poneglyph unlike any she has seen, one shaped like a letter of apology, and wonders aloud who Joy Boy was.

With Luffy's group, the captain grins over his raised bounty as Nami scolds him. Jinbe wants to draft a plan, and stops Shirahoshi when she tries to flee on Megalo to save her father. Hachi reminds her that Hody fears her power, though she doubts herself.

Luffy refuses to sit idle while his crew faces death and declares he will fight Jinbe if that is what it takes to pass. Jinbe, accepting his resolve and seeing Ace's younger brother in him, squares up for a duel. The anime extends Hody's speech to reference Gol D. Roger's execution and the Great Age of Pirates, shows a New Fish-Man Pirate cutting down a civilian who refused to trample the portrait, and depicts Dosun still fighting the princes during the broadcast. This installment marks the debuts of Togare, Gotan, and Luca.
