A Mysterious Forest Full of Candies - Luffy vs. Luffy?!

Pedro and Brook slip the Shark Submerge III out from the Sunny's third dock and sink beneath the river, intending to creep toward the Road Poneglyph that belongs to Big Mom. The remaining searchers wade ashore and spot no trace of Sanji or Pudding, despite the meeting having been arranged in advance. Chopper realizes the sand is actually firmed-up whipped cream, which thrills the group, and right then Sanji turns up at the tree line. He says nothing to their shouts and dashes into the woods, which unsettles Nami, who recalls his vow back on Zou that he would rejoin them.

Drawn deeper by a forest of candy, the pursuers stray off course past a stream of melon juice and a span built of doughnuts. As they cross it, an enormous crocodile erupts from underneath and tears a piece from the bridge, barely missing them, then strides off on two legs after deciding not to make a meal of humans, and to Nami's shock the beast can talk. Luffy is unbothered, noting that Chopper and Carrot speak as well. He then comes face to face with his own double, an inverted reflection that copies his every word and gesture, its scar and accessories flipped to the opposite side. His attacks land against matching attacks. When the real Sanji appears sprawled on a branch with a lollipop and runs off again, Luffy dispatches the others to follow while he stays bound to the copy, the two of them shouting the same demand to know what the other is.

The double is later shown to be Charlotte Brulee disguised as Luffy, and both she and Noble Croc debut in this entry. The adaptation works in several extra moments: Luffy stopping to admire the island's giant cakes, Nami cautioning him against shouting near foes, the trio drooling while denying any hunger for sweets, Nami stumbling during the crocodile's lunge, and Carrot gripping a lollipop as she notices the false Luffy. Three sequences also play out longer than in the original cut, namely the trek through the Seducing Woods, the confrontation with the duplicate, and the chase after the impostor Sanji.
