Returning the Sake Cup! The Manly Jinbe Pays His Debt

A flashback reveals that hours earlier Luffy had begged Bege to hide a mirror inside the cake, planning to exploit Brulee's power to flood the venue with copies of himself. In the present those duplicates run wild, Morgans gleefully photographs the spectacle, and Sanji carries a sobbing Pudding away through the air. As her treasured cake topples, Big Mom teeters on the edge of collapse and orders cooks to produce a replacement. When they cannot, she invokes Soul Pocus, frightening them so badly that their lifespans drain away and she rips the years out of them.

Luffy bolts toward the portrait of Mother Carmel intending to destroy it, but a Haki-coated tendril of sticky substance pins him down. It belongs to Katakuri, who declares he foresaw the act, dismaying Bege. Jinbe blasts Luffy free with a surge of tea and explains that Katakuri devoured the Mochi Mochi no Mi. Jinbe then faces Big Mom directly, asks to quit her crew for the Straw Hats, and offers his lifespan as the price. Soul Pocus fails against him because he feels no fear, and he returns the sake cup of their alliance. Big Mom crushes it underfoot and strikes with Prometheus, while Brook, disguised among the duplicates, walks up and smashes Carmel's portrait with a hammer.

The origin of Luffy's cake entrance is shown in flashback. Big Mom drains the lifespans of cooks who fail to replace her cake. Katakuri intercepts Luffy and his Mochi Mochi no Mi is exposed. Jinbe announces his defection to the Straw Hats and survives Soul Pocus through sheer fearlessness, formally returning the sake cup to end his loyalty. Brook, hidden in disguise, destroys the Carmel portrait.

The anime expands several beats: Perospero reassures an outraged Judge that the Charlotte Family will deal with Luffy, and Big Mom's Soul Pocus knocks out nearby bystanders as well. In the manga, Judge voiced his fury at Luffy's effort to rescue Sanji only after Brook wrecked the portrait, whereas the adaptation places that reaction before the portrait is broken.
