Overview

Sitting in Paradise not far from Momoiro Island and Mary Geoise, Lulusia was a kingdom that had bound itself to the World Government long ago, with the Marine base G-2 raised nearby. Geography described it as ragged mountains and pine forest crowned by an immense castle that loomed over the harbor settlement below. Its throne belonged to King Seki, though late in its existence the population turned against him. The land also held an unnamed inland town near Pasta Lake and a milk farm where the maiden Moda once worked.

Role

The kingdom drifts through the story as a recurring backdrop before its grim end. Ace passed through during his hunt for Blackbeard, dined and dashed on the doctor Kurotsuru, and was thrown into the river by angry locals before Moda rescued him in exchange for delivering a letter to G-2. Across the timeskip the realm was bled dry, forced to surrender gold to the World Nobles until its port slid into poverty. When the Peachbeard Pirates later raided in Blackbeard's name, Revolutionary commander Belo Betty rallied the townsfolk to drive them off.

Notable Members

King Seki and his daughter Princess Komane sat at the head of the realm until the populace, inspired by the Revolutionary assault on Mary Geoise, rose up as one of eight states in the so-called Eight-Nation Revolution and jailed the pair. Sabo, having stowed away from Mary Geoise, was welcomed and recruited willing citizens. Unknown to them, Imu chose Lulusia to test a Mother Flame-fueled Ancient Weapon, and the Five Elders agreed it would frighten other rebels. A rain of lasers annihilated the island instantly. The escaped citizens fled with Sabo to join the Revolutionaries, while the resulting sea crater and the Mother Flame's use triggered a global quake and a one-meter rise in sea level. Vegapunk's posthumous broadcast later exposed the truth the government tried to bury.
