The Macro Pirates are a three-member fish-man crew best known for trying to capture the mermaid Camie thirty-one times. Once part of the Sun Pirates, they became slavers and repeatedly clashed with their old friend Hatchan.
Numbering just three fish-men, this crew earned its reputation through dogged attempts to abduct the mermaid Camie, a pursuit they repeated thirty-one times. The full roster consists of Macro the captain, Gyaro, and Tansui. They are among the smallest crews in the series, discounting one-man outfits. All three are freshwater fish, and despite the fish-men's general loathing of slavery, this trio felt no qualms about trading mermaids and their own kind into bondage.
The three were once shipmates of Hatchan in the Sun Pirates. When their captain Jinbe accepted a seat among the Seven Warlords, the crew fractured into three branches, and the Macro Pirates emerged as one of them alongside Jinbe's own crew and the Arlong Pirates. Their vessel was a strange contraption fitted with paddle wheels and a huge fish tank dominating the rear, topped by their flag, with steering and a small cabin set forward. It appeared only briefly before Hatchan smashed it apart.
Their first showing came when Hatchan sold Camie to them for a map, though he later judged it a fake, wrecked their ship, beat them, and freed her, souring all relations. Around the Sabaody Archipelago they joined the kidnapping ringleader Duval to hunt Hatchan and Camie, and Hatchan thrashed them once again. In the non-canon film One Piece: Stampede, the crew turns up as guests at the Pirates Festival.
