Gathered here are the most accomplished and experienced head cooks stationed across Whole Cake Island. Beyond their renown and expertise, little else is recorded about the group as a body. A separate kitchen falls to each member, with Buche presiding over the very first, and all of them report to Streusen, the master chef who oversees cooking for the whole island. Their makeup is varied, spanning humans, minks or perhaps animal homies, a snakeneck, and a fish-man, with men in the majority and only three women, every one of them clad in matching whites and berets.

Each chef in the corps governs a kitchen and everyone cooking inside it. Prized as the greatest culinary talents anywhere in Totto Land, they were the obvious pick when an immense wedding cake had to be created on a tight deadline. Serving under Streusen, the chefs put in at least a week of labor toward the towering confection meant to celebrate the union of Sanji and Charlotte Pudding, wrapping it up the evening before the ceremony.

To date, Buche stands as the sole chef known by name. Once the ceremony dissolved into chaos, which the Fire Tank and Straw Hat crews had touched off, Pudding rewrote the cooks' memories and hired them to bake a fresh chocolate chiffon cake inside just three hours. They afterward loaded it onto Bege's vessel, the Nostra Castello, shielded the traitor Charlotte Chiffon from Oven's attempt on her life, and finished the decorations at sea before dropping from exhaustion. Their number, 31, is broadly taken as a wink at the thirty-one flavors made famous by Baskin-Robbins.
