Durandal is a rapier ranked among the Famous Blades and borne by the pirate Cavendish. Made of remarkably supple iron, it soaks up crushing hits that would snap lesser swords, and it drives his elegantly titled fencing moves.
This thin thrusting weapon belongs to Cavendish of the Beautiful Pirates and counts among the world's celebrated blades. It debuts beside its owner during the Dressrosa storyline and picks up its name in his early match at the Corrida Colosseum.
About as tall as a seated Cavendish, Durandal wears a light-and-dark vertical-striped scabbard and hilt, the grip dressed in rings and carved floral work, and once drawn the blade holds a steady shine. Its signature trait is the exceptionally pliable iron in its make, which lets it soak up shocks that would flatten an ordinary sword. Cavendish proved as much by halting Chinjao's headbutt outright, the rapier merely flexing a touch beneath that raw force. He routes it through a run of attacks named for European stage pieces and tales, among them Blue Bird, Swan Lake, Zan t-Exupéry, and Round Table, plus the guarding Precious Metal Axe. That last move was first drawn to intercept Doflamingo's string bullets, shielding both Nico Robin and Trafalgar Law at his side.
Cavendish stands as the blade's only owner. Its title tips a hat to the storied sword of the same name from the medieval French epic cycle, and his technique names keep up his fondness for famous European ballets and dramas. Within One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, his slumbering second self Hakuba powers the game-only Whirlwind attack.

Durandal is used by Cavendish of the Beautiful Pirates, a rapier ranked among the world's Famous Blades.
The name Durandal nods to a legendary sword from the medieval French epic cycle, though in One Piece it is a fictional rapier belonging to Cavendish rather than a real historical weapon.
Durandal is exceptionally supple for a blade, letting it absorb crushing blows that would break lesser swords, as shown when it held firm against Chinjao's headbutt with only a slight flex.
Cavendish channels Durandal through named techniques such as Blue Bird, Swan Lake, Zan t-Exupery, and Round Table, along with the defensive Precious Metal Axe.
Durandal first appeared in Chapter 704 and Episode 633, debuting alongside Cavendish during the Dressrosa storyline.
