Konpira

The sword Konpira is linked to Gion, a Marine officer at the vice admiral rank who answers to the alias Momousagi. It shows up at her side within the non-canon feature One Piece Film: Gold. The name almost certainly points to Konpira Fune Fune, a parlor game associated with geisha, which suits the wider inspiration behind Gion, drawn from the teahouse world of Kyoto's Gion quarter.

Among the Marines' swordswomen Gion counts as one of the very best, and it is that blade mastery that once marked her as a possible future admiral. Konpira is the named weapon she reaches for when applying that skill. Her rank also grants her Haki, an ability every vice admiral holds, and it places her among the senior officers who may jointly authorize a Buster Call, the fleet-level strike that requires five of them acting together.

Gion, the vice admiral nicknamed Momousagi, meaning Pink Rabbit, is the sword's owner. The Marines weighed her for a seat among the admirals, yet the open posts went to Issho and Aramaki instead. Oda built the character from a fan's submission and modeled her look on the actress Michiyo Kogure; several of her details, the sword's name included, nod to the traditional games of the teahouse.
