Appearance

Towering and heavily built, Senor Pink has dark shaggy hair, large lips, a double chin, and brown eyes. A pink bonnet caps his head, purple aviator shades hide his eyes, and a yellow pacifier dangles from his mouth. He winds a white-spotted blue scarf at his neck above a pink bib, dons a sleeveless purple shirt printed 'Let's Baby,' and folds his star-patterned trunks to resemble a diaper. The whole infant costume is a tribute to his dead baby boy. Decades earlier, at thirty, he had cut a much leaner figure, sharply turned out in a dark suit and floral shirt with neatly combed hair. He only adopted the baby look once Rosinante was gone, since the sight drew a smile from his comatose wife.

Personality

A throng of devoted women perpetually trails him, yet he brushes them aside as too young for an old man even while dressed as a baby, and he shows a crude side, once stripping a woman's bikini top simply to wipe his mouth. Admirers and underlings alike praise how 'hard-boiled' and cool he stays. His loyalty runs deep, as he absorbed a rocket to the face to spare the immobilized Machvise and held to his vow that Franky would earn a concession by surviving his strongest blow. A tender streak keeps breaking through, whether fretting over Sugar moments after mocking her or shielding a stray cat during combat, and his pride forbids fleeing a battle with his Devil Fruit. Towering over all of this was his love for Russian, for whose sake he buried his pirate identity and later wore baby clothes to keep her smiling, indifferent to every jeer it earned.

History

By the time of his backstory, Pink had spent no fewer than sixteen years among Doflamingo's pirates, who once operated out of the North Blue port town of Spider Miles, and he lived through the era of young Law's arrival and Rosinante's betrayal. He afterward met a pirate-hating woman named Russian, won her hand by claiming to be a banker, and fathered a son, Gimlet, who died while Pink was away on crew business. When Russian uncovered the lie she fled, only to be buried in a landslide that left her permanently unresponsive, and the bonnet that drew her smile became his lifelong disguise.

Throughout the Dressrosa Arc he stood as the Donquixote entrant in the Corrida Colosseum, then guarded the Toy House, surprising Franky by surfacing through the ground with the Sui Sui no Mi. Their feud carried clear across the city to the SMILE Factory, laced with respect, deception, and even synchronized-swimming brawling. Pink weathered Franky's heaviest strikes, pictured his wife and son as he finally collapsed, and shed a tear that Franky gently wiped away. Once Doflamingo fell, the Marines arrested Pink and confined him in Impel Down, where his Lineage Factor was later drawn out to copy his fruit's ability into the Seraphim S-Shark.
