Item

Worn by the heavyweight warrior Yama, this cloth sash carries ten Axe Dials sewn along it. Spreading it wide unleashes ten razor-thin air blades at once, letting him slice a target apart while crushing it beneath his massive bulk.

Overview

Belonging to the God's Army warrior Yama, this weapon is a sash mounted with Axe Dials rather than a conventional blade. It debuts in the story when he employs it to bring down Genbo. The item is essentially a wearable strip of Dials worn like a belt across the body.

Function

The sash is a black length of cloth, and along one face of it ten Axe Dials have been stitched in a row. A lone Axe Dial spits out an X-shaped blade of compressed air thin enough and sharp enough to cut through both a man and the iron shield he holds in a single pass. By opening the cloth out fully, Yama fires ten of these slices together, widening the zone of damage, and because of his enormous weight he can smash into his enemies at the same moment. The catch is direction: the Dials have to face the target, since turning the sash the wrong way sends the blades back into the wielder.

Notable Users

Yama is the sole user of the Ten-Fold Axe. His signature move with it is Axe Mountain, in which he holds the sash stretched out ahead of himself and hurtles at his opponent. On contact the target is pierced by the sharp gust of air while Yama's charging body slams into them and crushes them. Robin later uncovers the weapon's fatal weakness, realizing that its Dials wound the user if their side of the sash is not the one aimed at the foe.
