Summary

Luffy carries the knocked-out Usopp and Brook back to the crew before returning to Loki's side, telling Franky to hold off unless called since Loki is about to fight without restraint. As Loki tries to scorch the possessed Gunko with lightning breath, Imu recalls a giant ship sighted years earlier whose captain dwarfed his crew and who cloaked himself in heavy mist while raiding government vessels, a figure now connected to Loki. Imu projects a shadow form out of Gunko's body, the same trick once used on Saturn, and skewers both Luffy and Loki with dark tendrils to begin A Kuwaru.

The technique that follows, Domi Reversi, is meant to drain their lifespan and turn them against each other in a frenzy of hatred, yet it simply fails on both of them. They tear free in irritation, and Loki presses for answers about the remark concerning Rocks. Before Imu can explain why the two proved immune, Luffy lands a barrage he calls Gomu Gomu no Dawn Gatling. Loki, meanwhile, reverts to his true shape, swings Ragnir in its hammer mode, and entombs both Imu and Gunko inside an enormous block of ice through Niflheim. Across the island the giants and Lilith battle the spreading flames, while in Western Village Zoro and the Giant Warrior Pirates undo most of the demonic transformations, with Chopper finishing the rest by a means even he cannot quite explain.

Key Events

Luffy hauls the unconscious Brook and Usopp clear of the battle, then he and Loki press their attack. Reaching out of Gunko's frame, Imu attempts Domi Reversi against the pair, but neither feels its effect. Loki answers by freezing both Imu and Gunko solid, after which the shadowy figure slips out of the ice and tells the Five Elders he means to depart Mary Geoise for a while. Elsewhere, Nami, Jinbe, and Lilith keep dousing the fires, every demonized giant is changed back, and both Biblo and the entire Owl Library collection turn up missing. Outside Western Village, the dismembered Sommers survives and reassembles his own head.

Notes

Robin and Saul reach the Owl Library to find no scorched remains, only empty shelves and a vanished Biblo, leaving Robin to hope he rescued the volumes ahead of the blaze. Sanji notes how quickly the tide turned once the crew pushed back, and Franky observes that this fight pitted them against three individuals rather than a whole organization, though those three still managed to plunge an entire country into turmoil. The chapter belongs to the Elbaph Arc, with Eustass Kid featured on the cover, fleeing a charging bull aimed at his cape.
