Chapter 172

Nanohana is in chaos, its residents scrambling to douse the fires lit by the phony royal guards. At the edge of town, the pair of officer agents head off to link up with Mr. 2, but the boy Kappa catches the fleeing impostor and sees through the king disguise. Before he can raise the alarm the two agents intercept him, quietly cutting him down, and a bystander who finds him mistakes his frantic warnings for mere groans of agony. The wounded child is what finally moves the injured Koza to strike at once, and by lucky chance the ship rammed into the harbor was loaded with arms. Koza calls for an all-out charge on Alubarna. Inside the palace, a stunned Chaka braces himself to hold the capital and crush the swelling revolt.

Over in Rainbase, Crocodile relishes his victory, laying out for a shattered Vivi and the imprisoned crew the long campaign of plotting that delivered him here. Still lashed to a chair, Vivi tips herself over and drags herself along the floor, determined to head off the rebels before they hit Alubarna. Crocodile, amused, announces that he and Miss All Sunday are bound for the capital to confront her father. He shows her the key that opens the cage, then lets it fall through a trap door into a Bananawani pit, consigning any hope of escape to the creatures below.

The cover wraps up the Jango's Dance Paradise serial, reuniting Jango and Fullbody as recruits serving under Captain Hina, with Garp strolling past in the background trailed by his own unlikely pair, Koby and Helmeppo. Jango formally enlists in the Marines.
