Kappa is a young shoeshine boy from Nanohana in Arabasta. Fiercely devoted to his homeland, he becomes a crucial eyewitness whose testimony exposes Baroque Works and finally brings the kingdom's civil war to an end.
As a child, Kappa wears a white turban ringed with orange beads, a blue cloth at his neck, and a blue robe with green sleeves. Brown belts cross his torso to hold stones, and he hauls a bag on his back stuffed with makeshift weapons, among them a hammer, a bat, and a club.
By the timeskip he has shot up in height with longer hair, trading the turban for a brimmed, beaded hat and wearing a pale shirt that reads KAPPA on the sleeve over dark trousers and a dark neck cloth.
He loves Arabasta deeply, so much that he tried to take up arms with the rebels once he came to believe King Cobra had caused the drought. That same devotion surfaced as raw courage when he wanted to strike the impostor posing as the king as the fraud set out to torch Nanohana.

Kappa wanted to join the uprising against the king, but Koza turned him away for being too young for war. At Nanohana he stumbled onto the truth behind the conflict, watching Bentham drop his disguise as Cobra after setting the town ablaze and realizing the monarch had been framed. Daz Bonez and Zala set upon the boy to silence him, and although he survived the beating he was left too hurt to spread the word, unable to stop Koza from marching on the capital.
Igaram later found him, and Kappa's firsthand account, delivered to all of Arabasta, was what officially halted the war. After the timeskip he stood smiling beside Koza, now the kingdom's Environmental Minister, and during the Egghead arc he watched Vegapunk's worldwide broadcast in silence as others speculated about the scientist's fate.
