Chapter 217: Stowaway

Hina finishes clearing out what remains of Bon Kurei's crew, chatting with a colleague as she does so and locking an attacker inside a black iron band through her Ori Ori no Mi; Fullbody and Jango marvel at the feat. She admits the colleague is Smoker and that he, not the fight, is the true cause of her irritation, since he looked plainly glad when the captain got away from her. Throughout Arabasta the people, still unsure who exactly Vivi had been speaking to, celebrate that their princess came through safe and throw themselves anew into restoring the city. Over in Yuba, Toto chuckles to himself, lost in fond recollections of his days with Luffy and hoping the pirate will someday come back.

In the desert, a recovering patient thanks a physician and rushes off, leaving behind a white hood dotted with stars that the doctor calls out about, a quiet hint that Pell lives. Watching the Marines give chase, Vivi at last wipes away the last of her tears.

On Smoker's vessel, Tashigi rouses and joins him as he examines the wanted posters, and he runs through Zoro's record from the desert town onward to the downfall of Mr. 1, unmasked as the West Blue killer Daz Bonez. The pair commit to taking up the hunt once more. Aboard the Going Merry, Zoro reports the Marines have given up the chase, yet the rest of the crew slides into misery over losing Vivi. The gloom shatters when a concealed woman speaks up. She is none other than Nico Robin, having lurked on board the entire voyage, bathing and reading. She disarms the startled crew and puts her request to the captain, asking to be let in.

The kingdom restores itself at a quickened pace, spurred by its princess. Mr. 1 is named as Daz Bonez, Pell is shown to be alive, and Hina is confirmed to carry the Ori Ori no Mi. Smoker and Tashigi resolve to pursue the crew again, though they will not actually do so until the Punk Hazard Arc once the timeskip has passed. Robin discloses that she hid aboard to flee the Marines and asks to be accepted, framing it as a crime the captain committed. The installment marks the end of both the Arabasta Arc and the wider Arabasta Saga.
