Summary

Reading the sky, Nami reckons a typhoon stands a strong chance of sweeping over the island while she and Luffy sit atop a roof overlooking Galley-La's mansion, its entrance still crowded with reporters. Bent on the truth, Luffy smashes through a window and enters alone. Kalifa warns Iceburg of the intrusion, and he asks a favor of her. As workers give chase, Kalifa passes Luffy in a hallway, then lies to his pursuers that she never saw him and that Iceburg is sleeping, after which the workers settle in beside her to guard the door.

Within the room, Luffy and Iceburg talk over the shooting. Iceburg confirms that Nico Robin numbered among his attackers and, training a gun on Luffy, asks to meet her one final time, but Luffy admits he cannot say where she is. A gunshot echoes, the others rush in to find the window flung open, and Iceburg confesses that he too longs to expose the truth. Back on the roof, Luffy passes his findings to Nami, though he still cannot accept that Robin would be capable of the act.

Key Events

Inside the establishment run by Blueno, Franky shows up alongside Mozu and Kiwi, pulling a trio of drained bottles out of the storage cavity in his stomach before ordering cola. Asked whether he can settle the tab, the sisters reveal they still hold a million berries lifted from the Straw Hats, and a thrilled Franky flings the cash skyward and treats the room. Blueno hands over cola that Franky stores as fuel, his hair snapping upright again. Kokoro, there since Franky walked in, brings up Iceburg's shooting and contends that government agents, who have long shadowed Iceburg, make likelier suspects than any pirate. She names the group CP9, a claim that Franky and the bartender alike write off as mere rumor, though she maintains the agency works from the shadows.

In a back-alley storage room, Nico Robin meets two unidentified figures who instruct her, in the name of CP9, to take "it" from Iceburg, the sole surviving apprentice of Tom.

Notes

This chapter is part of the Water 7 Arc. It establishes that Franky runs on cola, that Kokoro is closely tied to both Iceburg and Franky, and that the rumored CP9 genuinely exists and pursues the item called "it," later revealed as Pluton. Tom once held that prize and handed it to his apprentice Iceburg. The cover advances the ongoing Gedatsu side serial, with Toto, Koza, and a vacationing Karoo helping out on Goro's hot-spring effort.
