Rattled to learn the recovered design is a forgery, the two intruders go quiet while Paulie swears he has no notion of what they hunt. They prepare to silence him, but Luffy comes smashing through the wall, his eyes landing first on the battered carpenter and only then on the pair. The skull-faced man kicks the wall apart as Luffy slips clear, after which the bull-faced man slams the captain down and holds Paulie too. Before withdrawing, they agree to gather in the bedroom and to spare Iceburg.

Fleeing the scene, the musketeer brushes Peepley Lulu aside with ease, prompting one carpenter to note that 'she' is slipping out. Locked together in the office, Paulie and Luffy pledge to stand and fight, one for Iceburg's sake and one for Robin's.

The whole of CP9 reconvenes in the bedroom, one of them scooping up Lucci's discarded hat. Hattori glides in and perches atop the shoulders of the bull-masked figure, exposing him as the genuine Rob Lucci. The Lucci and Kaku found beaten outside turn out to be stand-ins, while the skull-masked figure is the real Kaku, the musketeer is Kalifa, and the bartender Blueno wields the Doa Doa no Mi.

Reeling from the disclosure, Iceburg sits and listens as Lucci warns of further victims unless the document's hiding place is named. The cover continues the Gedatsu side story with the women's bathhouse at the hot-spring island, where Vivi, Terracotta, and a band of Kung-Fu Dugongs all relax.
