Showing his pet elephant Funkfreed the golden snail, Spandam explains that the device sets off a Buster Call and that only Marines ranked admiral or above are permitted to hold one. He insists Aokiji gave it to him and daydreams about ruling the Marines once the Ancient Weapons return, nearly mashing the destruct button on reflex when an agent rushes in. Irritated that the room's phone was knocked off its hook, he takes an urgent call and invites Robin and Franky to listen to what he assumes is news of their friends' defeat.
