Chapter 479, titled Warrior of Hope, has Nightmare Luffy relentlessly pound Oars and Moria before his borrowed shadows expire, finally toppling the giant and declaring Thriller Bark fallen.
While Luffy keeps battling Moria and Oars, shadowy figures approach the fallen crew, noting their grave injuries and that one has been reduced to bones, unaware of Brook's circumstances. They call the wounded the comrades of their ray of hope. Wary at first, Nami and Usopp agree to come down, and the figures turn out to be Lola and the Rolling Pirates, carefully moving the crew, especially the shadowless ones, to safety while placing their faith in Nightmare Luffy.
The zombies watch in shock as the giant they dubbed a demon is hurled about even with Moria lodged in his belly. Lola explains Luffy has only two or three minutes left in his state, and these moments will decide everything. Luffy throws Oars back into the palace, counters a Gomu Gomu no Bullet by slashing the giant's chest with a swordsman's shadow, then drives a Gomu Gomu no Pistol into Moria's face. As his time runs out, he ends it with a Gomu Gomu no Storm. Oars crashes down seemingly knocked out alongside Moria, the shadows pour out of Luffy, and the Rolling Pirates proclaim Thriller Bark has fallen.
