Marguerite mends Luffy's clothes in the jungle, and he thanks her before dashing off to find his crew. He soon learns no boats exist on Amazon Lily, which sits inside the Calm Belt amid Sea Kings. Only the Pirate Empress can sail out, her ship hauled by two venomous giant sea snakes called Yuda that even Sea Kings refuse to attack. Luffy's attempt at a raft fails for lack of skill. As he rests, Marguerite suddenly aims an arrow at his head, and more Kuja join in, their seemingly ordinary strength amplified by Haki, as the women insist he must die now that Hancock has returned.

Out at sea, a Marine vessel halts at the treaty-mandated distance to meet an Amazon ship. Vice-Admiral Momonga requests an audience with Hancock, but her crew rebuffs him until he warns that skipping the upcoming Warlords' assembly, called over the execution of Whitebeard's Ace, will cost her the title. Hancock appears, admits she lied earlier, and brazenly demands the ship's cargo while refusing to lose her status. When Momonga reveals the meeting is in a week and that all three admirals will lead the charge against Whitebeard, Hancock still declines and suggests turning the Marines to stone. Branding her selfish, Momonga is met with the amazons' claim that her beauty excuses everything. She then petrifies the entire crew, sparing only Momonga, who stabbed his own hand to suppress his attraction.

This chapter locates Amazon Lily within the Calm Belt and confirms the Kuja can wield and channel Haki through their weapons. Vice-Admiral Momonga, seen earlier at the Enies Lobby Buster Call, is formally introduced, and Boa Hancock is revealed as a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea with a power to petrify those who lust after her.
