Chapter 520

Luffy switches on Gear 2, and the crowd marvels at the steam pouring off him, wondering if all men can do this. Sandersonia assures Marigold that his Haki poses no threat as long as he cannot control it, then strikes with her Yamata no Orochi technique, but Luffy slips past every blow despite her Observation Haki tracking him, simply too fast to follow. He loops an arm around her neck and slams her down, dodges Marigold's polearm, and lands a Jet Bazooka that hurls her back and snaps her weapon, silencing the whole arena.

Irritated, Hancock orders her sisters to get serious. Marigold ignites herself for Salamander while Sandersonia renews Yamata no Orochi, surrounding Luffy with hair snakes. He answers with Jet Gatling, smashing every serpent head, then kicks the sisters into one another. Marigold's flames spread to Sandersonia, and when Marigold tries to pull away she finds Luffy has knotted their tails together. Panicking, Sandersonia nearly tumbles onto the spikes but catches the railing, and when her shirt burns away Luffy leaps onto her back. The crowd assumes he means to throw her down, but he tells her to hold still, having recalled that the sisters would sooner die than reveal the Gorgon's Eyes. Marigold hesitates to pull him off for the same reason.

Luffy defeats both Sandersonia and Marigold here. When Hancock calls off the fight and clears the arena, Sandersonia asks why he protected the very women trying to kill him, and Luffy answers that the mark on their backs has nothing to do with their match.
