Ace tells Garp he will not resist or flee if anyone comes for him, since doing so would dishonor them. As the convicts pressure Buggy to carry out his scheme against Whitebeard, the Emperor calls down to the terrified clown himself and proposes a ceasefire until the war ends, after which Buggy may try for his head. Buggy agrees, unaware the offer is a ploy to keep the dangerous escapees on his side. Whitebeard then routes orders through Squard and the Decalvan Brothers to marshal all the allied pirates. Elsewhere Jinbe lands a decisive blow on Moria, Hancock kicks Smoker off Luffy, and Doflamingo arrives to tell Ivankov that Kuma is dead.

Buggy forms a fake alliance with Whitebeard, who never intends to let him collect. Moria's detachable scissor-swords are shown. Luffy and Smoker meet for the first time since Arabasta. Hancock harms the Logia Smoker with her Haki and is publicly seen calling Luffy her beloved, putting her Warlord standing at risk. Ivankov confirms he knows Kuma, whom Doflamingo pronounces dead.

The cover opens Zoro's separation segment, with Perona overhead and his swords returned, implying an arrangement between them. Hancock's fury vanishes the instant Luffy addresses her by name, a recurring comedic beat in her devotion to him.
