Summary

The giant children panic at the talking head, then forget their fear the moment Franky the robot delights them. When one boy learns the pirates own a ship, he pleads to be rescued. Sanji and Franky balk at dragging the kids along when the crew itself is lost, but Nami refuses to abandon crying children begging for help. As gun-toting guards prepare to fire regardless of who is hit, Sanji floors one with Diable Jambe Collier Strike, and Chopper and Franky pile into the brawl. Sanji and Franky then hang back to hold off the pursuers while Nami and Chopper lead the children onward.

Key Events

A floating gaseous mass oversees the operation, alarmed that a door meant to be indestructible was destroyed and wondering whether Vegapunk's laser technology is in play. Reached by snail phone, Brook reports the Sunny was towed to the frozen half of the island, and Robin deduces it was knocked out with sleeping gas. On the burning side, Luffy befriends and then drops a centaur, while Robin pins a second with Cien Fleur. The crew notes the centaurs' leopard and giraffe lower halves and finds a snail marked CC, hinting at an organization. On the northwest shore, Smoker calls the island's thick gas unnatural and discloses that this very ground hosted the duel between Akainu and Aokiji two years earlier.

Notes

On the cover, Kumashi turns up again as Perona makes her way back to Thriller Bark, with both characters reappearing for the first time after the timeskip. Momonosuke is revealed to be the name of the samurai's son, and the children were taken from their families under the false promise of curing an illness. Sanji debuts Diable Jambe Collier Strike, while Robin unveils Cien Fleur Rindo. The gaseous leader appears for the first time, and Punk Hazard is confirmed as the admirals' battlefield, a wasteland already ruined four years earlier by a botched Vegapunk chemical experiment.
