Alignment of Interests

The Marines mark a line to keep the pirates at bay, though they make an exception for the medical squad, and Smoker confirms a ship is inbound from the G-5 base. Luffy chats with Brownbeard, who chooses to surrender so the Marines can purge the chemicals Caesar pumped into him. Nearby, Sanji and Brook build a barbecue pit. Chaos erupts when Chopper screams "Murderer!" at Law, who has just finished cutting the children to pieces, and Brook wails that he accidentally shattered the petrified Kin'emon.

The samurai's shell then cracks open, revealing him alive and well, and an indignant Kin'emon screams back at the stunned crew. Momonosuke, restored to human form, leaps into his father's arms before fainting from hunger. Inside the infirmary the children greet Chopper joyfully, completely cured, explaining that the man in the fluffy hat drew every drug from their bodies. Only Mocha still sleeps.

Tashigi arrives to take the children under Marine protection, a plan Nami quietly arranged, trusting a strong Marine woman to care for them as Bell-mère once cared for her. Sanji prepares a huge pot of sea pork stew, his first Attack Cuisine dish from the Newkama Kenpo recipes, and Momonosuke weeps as he eats. The dividing line dissolves into a ceasefire, and everyone, Marines, former henchmen, children, and crew, lines up to share the meal and party.

The G-5 men learn Shinokuni's weakness by wringing it out of Caesar and set off to save their petrified comrades. Apart from the festivities, Smoker admits he never expected Law to honor their bargain and remarks on his scheme to use the Straw Hats against an Emperor. A flashback confirms the target: Law tells Luffy they will go after Kaidou, and Luffy answers that the order hardly matters since he plans to bring all four Emperors down.

The title refers to the convergent goals binding the unlikely allies. The cover continues the Caribou serial, a voice hailing him as "Commander Gaburu" on the road to the harbor. Mocha awakens to Chopper's tears, Sanji cooks his first Attack Cuisine, and the chapter cements the Luffy and Law alliance's aim at Kaidou.
