Chapter 73

After flattening every fish-man at the park, Zoro talks Hatchan into ferrying him toward Cocoyasi Village, posing simply as a guest. Elsewhere Luffy, Sanji, and Yosaku run headlong into Momoo, the giant beast that wrecked Gosa Village. Yosaku guesses the creature is starving, but Luffy answers with a punch, drawing a scolding from Sanji, who offers it food instead, then kicks and knocks it out when it snaps at his hand. With the animal subdued, the trio settle in for their meal.

Arlong returns to find his crew battered and learns Zoro was responsible. His fury cools the instant he hears Usopp has been seized. When some of his men accuse Nami of arranging an escape, calling treachery her trademark, she insists she would never turn on them and reminds Arlong of her bargain to purchase the village honestly, which he accepts. Realizing Usopp is in danger, Zoro doubles back toward Arlong Park, while Luffy and his companions force Momoo to tow them in the same direction.

Momoo debuts here, a sea cow species native to the Grand Line, and is tamed by the combined efforts of Luffy and Sanji. Usopp's capture sets up the crew's converging return to Arlong Park. The cover marks Buggy's return with his body finally pieced back together, now joined by Alvida, Mohji, and Cabaji.
