Jinbe urges Luffy to join forces with Capone Bege, the wedding's chief of security who secretly schemes to behead Big Mom, even after Bege gunned down the loyal Pekoms for refusing a place in the plot.
Sanji is taken aback to hear that Jinbe turned against Big Mom and freed both Luffy and Nami, and he is relieved she is unharmed, though he feels unable to face her after the pain he caused. As the rain thins, the rescue team locates the pair through a fragment of mirror Nami had carried while riding Kingbaum, then searches nearby for more shards. Luffy catches Chopper's voice from the glass and tells a stunned Sanji that the rest of the crew is inside the mirrors. The team reports everyone safe and Brook's copies of the poneglyphs secured. When Pedro asks whether Sanji is coming, Luffy stuns them by saying not yet, then explains the plan to storm the wedding and save the Vinsmoke Family first. After a hushed pause, the team bursts into delight, and even Nami, swearing she will never pardon the dread Sanji put her through, sets it aside to drag him home.
Jinbe spells out the danger. Big Mom's heavy investment in her tea parties guarantees savage retaliation, and beyond the ministers the crew will field many formidable fighters, alongside Underworld rulers summoned from across the globe, against a team of just ten. He then describes Capone Bege, head of one of the five strongest West Blue mafias, a man who beheads creatures for amusement and strikes straight at the bosses of rival groups, taking only their wealth so he can savor the chaos that erupts afterward. Hunted constantly, Bege relishes it, cutting his pursuers down with his Devil Fruit. Now shielded by Big Mom and trusted with wedding security under the title "Rook," Bege stands between no one and the Emperor, and while she means to butcher the Vinsmokes, he intends to claim her own head.
It comes to light that Bege had offered Pekoms a role in the conspiracy, and when the steadfast lion mink refused, Bege shot him into shark-infested seas to keep him quiet, only for the Sun Pirates to pull him out in time. Though enraged, Luffy is advised by Jinbe not to treat Bege as a foe, and rather than improvise a plan in the few hours left, Jinbe suggests allying with the meticulous boss. Luffy agrees over his teammates' protests. In the northwest of Whole Cake Island, at the hideout of the Fire Tank Pirates, Vito confirms he took out Bobbin to stop him pursuing Sanji. Bege, meanwhile, resolves to cooperate with his fellow Supernova, ready to eliminate Luffy should he provoke him.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
